You never know quite what you might find in Susie the Childminder’s ‘Rainy Day Box.’ One day the children found bed sheets, pegs, and a picnic blanket and spent all day making an amazing indoor tent. Another day they found plant pots and packets of seeds. It hadn’t rained for weeks. The news on TV was telling the grown ups to save water because there was no rain, so when Susie suggested they look in the ‘Rainy Day Box’ the children were confused. Sanjay lifted the lid in anticipation. Inside he found white T shirts, pots of paint and paint brushes. “I thought we might make Sunny Day T shirts to take to the beach tomorrow,” said Susie. “You mean paint sunny pictures on the T shirts?” asked Sanjay, who was still a bit confused. “Yes said Susie, the paints are special fabric paints.” “Brilliant!” said Kit.” An excuse to actually get paint on our clothes!” 6
