Snowflakes and Icicles

“What shall we do today?” asked Susie’s daughter Murph, sipping her hot chocolate. “We could make a snowman,” suggested Nathan. “Or a snow dog, that would be more fun,” said Daniel “More difficult you mean,” said Lydia who remembered her ‘wobbly attempt’ last time it snowed. “I’ll help you this time Lydie,” reassured Kit. “We could make a snow rabbit if you like?” “That would be wonderful” replied Lydia, with a smile. The children dressed up warm and headed out to the garden. They began building their snow animals, while Susie talked to her elderly neighbour, Nanny Dot. “Are you OK in this cold, icy weather?” Susie asked. “Yes thank you,” said Nanny Dot. “Yesterday Ricky, the greengrocer, very kindly cleared and gritted my garden path, so it’s not slippery anymore. Then, lovely Mark popped round from the fire station, to check I was warm enough, thank goodness I had the loft insulated.” 12
