Sanjay, Daniel and his brother Nathan arrived at Susie’s. Daniel and
Nathan were arguing about who had left on all the lights and TV the
previous afternoon, when they had gone out to play with their friends.
Sanjay, however, was in a good mood because he had been made a
Junior Road Safety Officer at school, and today he was also allowed
to bring his bike into school. This was to help teach the younger ones
about road safety and to use in his talk at the School Council. Sanjay’s
talk was about the School Travel Plan, which was trying to get children
out of cars and either walking, scooting or cycling to school.
“Gosh five children and three bikes to school today!”
exclaimed Susie. “That is going to be a challenge!”
“Don’t forget my puppy!“ exclaimed Murph.
“Gosh, how could I forget Salem?” said Susie with a smile.
“So that’s five children, three bikes and a puppy to get safely to
school today - an even bigger challenge!”
